Now these are actually mount in the gutters on the existing roof on your Gladiator, you see, they fit into there. So that's kind of a nice option to have. There was not fixed the mounted points, but it's also not the naked roof where you have to measure out where you gonna put it. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hey, everyone, Shane here at etrailer.com. Today, I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm going to walk through how I installed the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for towed vehicles. On the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it's gonna require the battery to be disconnected. Rather than getting under the passenger's seat to disconnect them with positive cable wire, or negative cable each time you want to tow the vehicle, adding the battery gets connect makes it easy because it's going to put a button inside the vehicle where all you have to do is push it when you're ready and it's going to disconnect the battery and all the power inside the vehicle. Installation process is pretty simple and straightforward, the hardest part about doing it is mounting it inside the battery box, where I mounted it, however, it really wasn't too bad. more

Demco SBS Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit Installation - 2021 Jeep Gladiator- Video
Hey, everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator, I'm going to walk you through how to install a charge line kit for Demco's supplemental breaking system. The charge line kit is not a part that is necessary when flat towing a vehicle. However, I always recommend it because your braking system is tied to the battery, if your vehicle is shut off you have no way of charging your battery, but the braking system when it activates the brakes or applies the brakes, it's pulling some power from the battery. With the charge line kit, it's going to run from the battery up to the six pole plug on the front of the vehicle so that when you're running the motor home and it's attached to the vehicle, the alternator on the motor home is going to trickle charge your battery while it's being towed. So as the power is being pulled from the braking system, or pulling the power from the battery to activate the braking system, the motor home is charging the battery that way when you get to wherever you're going, your battery is going to be charged and ready to go. more

So using a battery charger, whenever you're towing your Jeep down the road is a really smart thing to do. And I say that because whenever your braking system is operating inside of your Jeep, it's gonna take power from the Grand Cherokees battery. And when you're over the road for a long time, constantly taken a little bit of juice, that battery can wear down and become flat and more or less kind of leave you stranded with a dead battery whenever you get to your destination. And so a battery charger is going to prevent that. more

Yakima SideBar Side Rails Installation - 2020 Jeep Gladiator- Video
Hi there Jeep owners, today in your 2020 Jeep gladiator, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, Yakima's overhaul with the sidebar attachment. These side rails have T slots in them just like the overhaul, but as a separate part number that you can add to the kit, to help increase its rigidity and flexibility. Yakima's overhaul HD, with the sidebar installed, is gonna give you an additional T slot, that runs down the side, to attach your accessories to. It could also can be used as a tie-down point, and if you have accessories that you wanna clamp on the side, you could do so as well. The arm is adjustable so you can get the appropriate length of how you've got your your spread set. And if we look here, the opening on the side with the smaller adjuster here, is where you'll put in your T slots. more

Adam: What's going on everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima round bar roof rack system on our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We all know that Jeeps are very capable vehicles, but putting a roof rack on top of it is going to definitely widen its amount of capabilities. I really like our etrailer basket on top, just because if you have a bunch of people inside, you have a bunch of other stuff in the back, we can actually pretty much double the amount that we can fit in the back up on top of our roof. Another thing you can do is we have J-style carriers that you can put up on top to get two kayaks to and from your destination.With 48 inches of crossbars, we are going to have a lot of different things we can put up on there. I've seen a bunch of different bike racks on there. more

Evangeline: Hi, it's me, Evangeline, from etrailer.com and today we are looking at our Saris MTR 2-Bike Platform Style Rack here on our 2020 Jeep Gladiator. So this is a great bike rack, especially if you want all the options for your different types of bikes. One of the features is that it can tilt away, so to do so, you just pull this lever here and let it down. It comes to a stop there at that bottom, and you would want to do this if you want to open up your tailgate. So you can see here that we can completely lower our tailgate, which is great if we need to get in there, take things out of the truck bed without having to worry about taking off all our bikes and the bike rack. When you're done with that, you just lift up and it snaps into place.The way our bike is mounted to our bike rack here is by these two wheel mounts. more

So if you're asking yourself why you would need a battery charge line, it's because while our vehicle is in tow mode our battery does drain a little bit. No matter if it's off or accessory, whatever position we need to have the key in there's still going to be some slight drain from some of the components on the vehicle. Therefore, in order to prevent a dead battery when we arrive to the campsite, we can charge the towed vehicle's battery here with our motorhome along our trip.So here's what our battery charge line kit basically consists of, which is a circuit breaker here, and then we're going to have a wire that comes around here. It's run to the positive post on our battery, then it's going to be run down to the front of the vehicle to our trailer connector. more

Today on our 2019 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Demco second vehicle kit for Air Force One supplemental braking systems. There's going to be five main components needed to flat tow your Jeep Cherokee down the road, they're going to include your base plate, your tow bar, your braking system, your tow bar wiring, and your safety cables. Your base plate is going to attach your Jeep's frame and give us a really solid and reliable connection point to hook our tow bar up to.The tow bar is going to be that link that goes from your base plate to the back of the motor home and allows your vehicle to pivot behind your motor home as you're going down the road. Your braking system is going to apply the brakes in your Jeep, whenever you hit the brakes in your motor home to help bring everything to a safe, complete stop. Your tow bar wiring is going to connect to the back of your motor home, to the front of your Jeep and that's going to help provide the appropriate lighting signals on the back of your Jeep, that way other motorists will know what your intentions are as you're going down the road.And lastly, your safety cables are going to connect to the back of your motor home, again to the front of the Jeep, and they're going to be a secondary attachment device in case of the event of a catastrophic disconnect, these cables are going to keep your Jeep connected to the back of your motor home. more

Blue Ox Coiled Electrical Cord Installation - 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Blue Ox seven wire to six wire coiled cable for towed vehicles. Now this is going to give us a seven-way on one end so we can hook into our motor home and a six-way on the other end so we can hook up to our tow vehicle. This is going to plug in pretty easy, most common connector on the back of our motor home would be our seven-way, make sure it's plugged in. We can come over to the six-way and it will come with a plug, just plug our cable in.Now we can have all the lights transferred to our Jeep whenever we're flat towing. So whenever we need to change lanes, we turn on our turn signal in the motorhome, the cable will allow it to get transferred to the tail lights on our Jeep so we can all be safe going down the road. more

So this is a really good option for a roof rack if, for example, you already have Vortex bars from another vehicle that happened to match the same length that you need on the Jeep, and you want to adjust them to be able to use on your hard top on your Jeep. We have our gutter mount feet, our adapter kit to be able to use those bars, and it's a very quiet aerodynamic roof rack system that will allow you to carry a kayak or maybe a couple paddleboards or surfboards. So as we can see here, we have our breakaway switch mounted up in the front of the vehicle. Now a breakaway switch in nature is going to provide a connection point between the towed vehicle and the tow tow vehicle. But what this is going to do is, should the tow vehicle ever come disconnected from the towed vehicle, that's going to allow us to still apply the brakes in our towed vehicle via the supplemental braking system. Today on our 2010 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles.Now the reason you're going to want to use a battery charge line kit is relatively simple. Your braking system is going to run off your battery power every time it activates, so over time that could potentially drain your battery. So as opposed to having to worry about stopping every few hours while you're on the road to start your Jeep up to let your battery charge back up, what the charge line kit is going to do is more or less take some power from the back of your motor home's seven way plug and trickle charge or maintain your battery. That way whenever you get to your destination, you're going to have a full battery and not have to worry about getting a jumpstart or borrow some jumper cables from somebody else.And some of our customers have asked if the charge line kit is going to affect the motor home's batteries, and the answer is no and that's because as you're driving your motor home down the road, the motor batteries are constantly going to be charging from the vehicle's alternator. And since this uses so little current or voltage, it's not going to affect those batteries at all.So overall really simple, straightforward component that's going to eliminate the need for you to lug around jumper cables or have to worry about getting a jumpstart and not having to pull over every few hours to start up your Jeep and let your battery charge. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2011 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to walk you through how I installed Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect for Vehicles with Supplemental Braking Systems.Some vehicles will require the automatic battery disconnect. The reason is, is you have to have a key in the on position, put the car in tow mode. But if you don't disconnect the battery, what happens is while the braking system is on and applying the brakes, if you don't disconnect the battery, it could potentially throw codes in the vehicle and the vehicle will act up while it's being towed. So, this system is actually going to allow you to disconnect the battery once you put your vehicle in tow mode.What's nice about this setup is each time you want to flat tow, so we're not going to have to get out, disconnect the positive battery cable to flat tow it, get where we're going, and then reconnect our battery.This has a button we mount inside the vehicle, allows us to push that button, automatically disconnects it. It's going to be our battery disconnect solenoid. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee.Now, whenever you're flat-towing your jeep behind your motor home, the whole purpose of taking it is so that once we get to the campgrounds, we can take our car out, go to dinner, run to the gas station. It's just a lot easier to drive our Cherokee around rather than driving our motor home.But part of the problem comes into play whenever we're flat-towing our Cherokee. If we do a long extended period of time, the battery can drain, whether that's because of the braking system or any other components that may stay on, but our charge line is going to make sure that when we get to our destination, we can jump in our Cherokee and not have to worry about finding somebody to jump our car.And the way our charge line kit is going to work is, it's going to take the 12-volt power source from the back of our seven way in our motor home, send it through our umbilical cord to the six way or whatever plug we have on the front of our jeep. Now, on the inside of here, on one of the pins, we have our charge line, just a wire going up to a breaker that's going to be hooked to the battery. And that breaker is going to make sure that it doesn't overcharge our battery, because it's only going to provide 15 amps while we're hooked up.One thing to keep in mind about the charge line kit is you are going to need that 12-volt power source at the seven way at the back of your motor home. If you don't have a constant 12 volt power source, you can pick up a motor home charge line kit here at etrailer.com, and that is going to be sold separately.Now keep in mind that it's only going to be one component you need for complete, safe flat-tow setup. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Second Vehicle Kit on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. One of the main reasons why you would want a second vehicle kit, or a new vehicle kit for the InvisiBrake is if you already had one on a previous vehicle, but you sold that and you got a new Jeep. Well, you don't need to go buy the whole new system, we can just use the components that come in the Second Vehicle Kit, and it will have everything we need minus a few things.It's going to come with everything you see here on the table, all your wires, a new pulley, clamps, breakaway switch, and all your hoses, valves, and everything else to get it installed. However, like I said there are a few things that we're going to have to take from our old kit so that we can get this installed properly. There's going to be three components that we're going to need. We're going to need the InvisiBrake unit itself, the patch cord that's going to go in between our towed vehicle and the motor home, and then we're going to need our cable and cylinder assembly.Now before you put everything together, you do want to inspect the cable and the cylinder to make sure it's working properly. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2014 Jeep Wrangler- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect.Whenever you're flat towing your 2014 Jeep it is required that we disconnect the battery, that way it doesn't drain when we're going down the road and leave you stranded once you get to your destination. And that's where our switch comes into play. That's going to allow us to easily disconnect or connect it without ever even having to open the hood.What I really like about this one, once we have our cables, and our solenoid installed, we're not going to have to mess with anymore unlike some of the other styles out there today. Now our solenoid, this is actually going to control our power, and either keep a closed circuit for full battery power or open it to keep it disconnected.What actually controls that solenoid, is a push button right here in the dash. Now it's going to be super simple to power on or off our battery. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar 7-Wire to 6-Wire Coiled-to-Straight Cord Installation - 2018 Jeep Cherokee- Video
-Today, in our 2018 Jeep Cherokee, we're gonna take a look at the Roadmaster 7-wire to 6-wire coiled to straight cord for Roadmaster tow bars.Whenever you're flat-towing your vehicle, you need to have the lights transfer from your motorhome to your towed vehicle. Now, we need to get a way to transfer all those signals. Possibly a power source going to charge our battery.Well, that's where our Roadmaster cable's gonna take care all of those problems for us. Now, this is gonna be specifically made for a replacement for Roadmaster tow bars. However, it is gonna work with any tow bar and any towed vehicle.It's gonna be a hybrid style cable, which means we're gonna have a coiled sections that's gonna be close to the motorhome and then it'll turn into a a straight cable that'll go all the way until we plug it into our towed vehicle. The straight end of the cable's gonna be great for tow bars that have that channel guide in them so we can keep everything looking nice and keep all that extra slack from dragging on the ground.Now, our cable's gonna have a silicone injected 7-way on the motorhome side, that way we can prevent any kind of corrosion from building up inside that plug.Now, on the other end, on the towed vehicle side, we're gonna have a 6-way connector. more

Scosche Windshield Heads Up Display Installation - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today in our in 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at the Scosche Windshield Heads-up Display. A heads-up display can add another level of safety to your vehicle. It's going to let us know our engine RPMs and our miles per hour without ever having to take our eyes off the road because it's going to display it directly on the windshield. Our heads-up display is going to have a meter that's going to show us our RPMs as well. You'll notice the small zero with the two hash marks next to it. That's going to be our RPM gauge. more

When we want to tow our jeep, we're gonna need a base plate, tow bar wiring, the tow bar itself, as well as the braking system. Now specifically for our jeep, we're also gonna need an automatic battery disconnect, as well as a charge line kit to make sure our battery stays charged. According to our owner's manual, we need to disconnect our battery every time we want to flat tow our jeep. Now it doesn't sound like that big of a deal. We can pop our hood and we can disconnect the negative cable. more

What the charge line kit is going to do for you, it's going to allow you to charge your battery on your vehicle while it's being flat towed. For instance, our customer here has a Brake Buddy, which is a portable braking system, that sits in the floorboard of the driver's seat. However, it has to have power to work. With that power going to the battery, that means the battery's always going to be drawing something, or the Brake Buddy is always going to be drawing power from the battery. more

Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening Installation - 2010 Jeep Commander- Video
Today on our 2010 Jeep Commander, we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening, part number RM-4750. This is what our Tow Defender looks when it's installed. The main purpose of the Tow Defender is to deflect any debris kicked up by our RV tires. It's gonna be constructed of a mesh material, it's going to allow air to flow through it to reduce the amount of bouncing up and down it's gonna do while we're traveling, while deflecting any of that debris from hitting the front of our vehicle. It's gonna add two gas struts on the RV side to allow movement of the screen when turning. It's gonna attach to our two bar receiver with a sleeve, and it's also gonna attach to our baseplate quick disconnect bar with a bracket like this on each side. more

Roadmaster Flexo-Coil Kit Installation - 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Speaker 1: Today, on our 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Roadmaster seven-wire to six-wire Flexo-Coil kit, part number RN dash one four six dash seven.So here's what our plug's gonna look like on the front of our Jeep. We mounted ours right below our license plate, that way we have our electrical connector easily accessible when we hook up to our motor home. Our kit is gonna come with a seven to six-way cord, so we can plug this seven-way into our RV, and the six way into the front of our Jeep. Now it is gonna be a coiled cord, so it's gonna keep it nice and contracted when it's not plugged in, but it is gonna expand up to eight feet. That way, we can reach from the front of our Jeep to our motor home, and not worry about it dragging the ground.The internal part of our plugs are both gonna be silicone injected, so they're gonna stand up to the elements and the weather, and make sure we don't get any corrosion built up on the terminals inside. And the outer part of the cord is gonna be resistant against water as well as any other salt or road grimes that may be on the road.Now the center pin on our six-way cord is gonna be 12-volt power. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, part number RM-156-25.The five main components for a flat tow set-up are your braking system, your wiring, your tow bar, your safety cables, and your base plate.What this is going to do, this is going to allow you to hook this up to your six volt plug on the front of the vehicle, and while it's being flat towed, the battery in your RV is going to charge the battery in your towed vehicle, because the towed vehicle has to have the key in the on position.You're going to get your wiring, you're going to get your circuit breaker, large ring terminal, it's going to hook to the battery. And you're going to get two smaller ring terminals that are going to connect to each post on your circuit breaker. On the bottom of your circuit breaker, or on the side of it, I should say, you're going to have a battery and an auxiliary. This is going to say auxiliary, and this is going to say battery. You have a copper and a silver post. The side that says battery is going to run to your six volt plug, which means battery coming from your RV. more

This fairing gives your roof rack more of an aerodynamic look to it, so it's gonna help cut down on wind noise and drag while you're traveling at high speeds by just deflecting the air over the top of it.The stylish design is gonna enhance the look of your roof as well as your roof rack. When wind hits our fairing, we're gonna see that it can bounce a bit, which is why we have these rubber bumpers installed along the bottom of the fairing to help protect the top of your roof's finish. Now that I've gone over some of its features, I'll show you how it installs.We already have our fairing partially assembled, so I'll go ahead and show you how to assemble it the rest of the way. Right here, we have the four parts of our bottom clamp assembly with our nuts and bolts. And then we have the rest of our fairing assembly bracket right there. more
